I had my car inspected and it failed due to ball joints. I replaced them on a Monday. I called them and asked when I could come back to get an official state sticker. Saturday a 9am was the quickest they could get me in. Keep in mind all they had to do is look at the repairs and put the sticker on. I got there early and waited for an hour before I went to check on the progress. My truck hadn't moved. I said something to the service attendant and they had an additude and responded we will get to it. This should not have taken more than 20 minutes and the rude attendant was unacceptable.

I have been a customer of the Salem Pinkerton Chevrolet dealership for about 10 years and just purchased my second Caddilac CTS from them. I just have to say the great guys I have had to help me from sells, service and everyone else that I have come into contact with have been the kindest, friendliest and most helpful that I could have ever ask for in my visits to the dealership. Thank you for all you do, Mario, Ramsey, Mike and Debbie. You are always there to help me anytime. You are the best!!!

As a single woman, I was nervous when starting the process of buying my first car on my own. I honestly had fears that I was going to be taken advantage of and not treated fairly. I asked my brother-in-law for recommendations, and I was surprised when he recommended Pinkerton Chevrolet (we're about an hour away from there, and there are closer dealerships nearby). I took his word for it though, and am I'm so glad I did. They were honest, helpful, and yes, fun! No pressure to exceed my budget, and they helped me find just what I was looking forward. I have returned there for service work because I trust them so much. It's worth it, and I get to sit in a nice and clean area while waiting. I highly recommend these folks for all of your automobile needs!

I purchased my new Silverado from Pinkerton two years ago and have had it back to the dealership for normal service (oil change, etc) and some warranty work. I have never had such a great vehicle buying experience. All the salespeople were friendly and helpful. I ended up actually buying from Mario and could not ask for a better experience. What a great guy. In service, Ramsey is always cheerful and helpful. I will probably never shop at another dealership after dealing with the great people at Pinkerton Chevrolet.

Had the distinct pleasure of dealing with a real professional in the person on one Levi Heaton...I have bought dozens of cars over my life time and have had both good and bad experiences in these dealings..However, I have never had such an outstanding rapport with a sales person as I had with Mr. Heaton..After I identified the vehicle (mazda mx-5 Miata) and made contact, Mr. Heaton contacted me, prompted me to provide necessary data about my trade and needs to enable the transaction to almost go to fruition before I drove almost 300 miles to your dealership...believe me, in this market with all the opportunities to buy, you have to be good to draw a customer from 300 miles on the promise of customer satisfaction first..Mr. Heaton did this and more...I drove over 5 hours to your dealership on his credibility as established via internet and the phone.... He created a trust relationship not usually found in used car sales personnel that brought me to your dealership door. The car I was interested in purchasing was detailed an road ready...not always the case...especially on such short notice that I gave Mr. Heaton..I feel the only time the transaction dragged out was in the finance department...your rep did not appear to hear what I said in terms of satisfactory deal..and submitted figures that were unchanged from initial discussion...after I was told that they were prepared to deal..I proceeded with the purchase...even though we were still 1000 apart on the deal...especially since your unit was as described and shown on internet..Had I more time I would have countered with another offer, but accepted the offers since it was nearing the 5 o'clock hour and I had a very long drive home. Being the true,caring professional, Levi called my home late that night to learn if I had arrived safely and without issue.... This man engenders a trust in his customer that comes from some good moral values and desire to serve his customers...who no doubt will become his friend over time and repeat business contacts. A business reputation is built by that first contact..Levi transmitted a good one...very professional.

Saturday October 9, 2010I bought my Nissan Sentra from Pinkertons with the extended warranty.Prior to driving to Connecticut today I brought it to Pinkertons in Salem for a oil change and inspection.I made a appointment for 9 AM, Randy assured me it would only take an hour when I told him I would have to wait.It took 2 hours and I watched several cars come in get work done, and go out while I sat there.When I got home there was oil dripping throughout the engine compartment. So much was spilled it splattered on the passengers side fender.Mike Adams told me a complete inspection was done. He was so focused on pushing new tires on me; he did not notice I didnt have brake lights. Too bad Roanoke City Police noticed, when they pulled me over.I would grade todays experience a D-. It would have been an F but they did manage to get some oil in the engine. I called and left a message for Mr. Adams, explained how the trip had to be canceled. I will have to wait two days till Monday morning to see how they intend to make this right.Monday, October 11, 2010I was contacted by Mike Adams this morning. I explained my dissatisfaction with the service. He told me he would get a new brake light switch and could install it anytime after 2 PM. It would take hour to do the work. I made an appointment for 3:30 PM.At 4:28 PM Mr. Adams called my wife to inform her he had sent someone to get a brake light switch from a local Nissan dealer.I called him at 4:45 PM to inquire about why the job was now into its second hour. He told me, The first part he received was an after market part and was the wrong one. He assured me the car would be ready at 5:15 PM. I arrived at the dealership at 5:25 PM only to be told they were having problems getting the broke part out. I told Mr. Adams this service was unacceptable, and asked how he intended to make it right. When the vehicle was finally done at 5:45, Mr. Adams offered us two options, in an attempt to make the situation right. We could purchase tires, and he would install them without charge, or two free oil changes. At this point my wife and I are extremely frustrated with this dealership. She had to miss an important trip she scheduled months ago. An oil change with an appointment took 2 hours and spread oil through out the engine compartment. The vehicle was sent off the lot without brake lights. A second appointment that I was assured would be hour lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes. We decided we never want Pinkertons Chevrolet to touch our car again. I have an extended warranty which if I get work done anywhere but Pinkertons will have a $100.00 deductible, which I will gladly pay before I let Pinkertons Service Department touch my car.Adam McMahon Roanoke VA
