If the bar and terminals are contacting each other at the time of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, that air bag will not deploy, increasing the driver's risk of injury.
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic, and model year 2012 Buick Verano vehicles. The driver side frontal air bag has a shorting bar which may intermittently contact the air bag terminals.

I purchased an Acura Cl from them j a year ago. I drive a commercial truck so I drove it very little. In around 11k miles from purchase , here is what I fixed or replaced: CV axles, ($450) all tires/ (tires were separating, ($600) alignment ( $79) door handle broken inside door ($198) dealer diagnostics for check engine light recurring ($270) battery ($89) tune up incl plugs, cap, rotor, which I replaced myself parts ($49 ) Here is what car needed a few days ago per dealer/ distributor $500 & labor/ catalytic converter $775 & labor possible timing belt, water pump & drive belts (service records don't show ever been done with 165.000 mi plus) $550-$800 parts & labor, depending on whether oil seals, tensioners etc need replacement. This is moot now, because a couple days ago the tranny went out. A used junkyard tranny installed is $2450. The car in good condition is worth about $2000. I paid around $4000-$4500 for the car. And I recall mentioning the tranny clunked a lot going into gear, Tim told me " That's just a Honda transmission, they're all like that" or words to that effect. Now that it's almost worthless, I asked the dealer what they could give me on a courtesy trade, and was told after they ran their report, "nothing". It seems the car was also in a wreck years ago in California, and sustained "structural damage" They stated they can't resell such a vehicle. Dealers all run reports on autos they buy, so clearly they knew and chose not to disclose this wreck. I didn't pay for a salvage vehicle, this was supposed to be a clear title, so let's say I was shafted thoroughly (again) by someone I trusted, who I now recognize as just another used car salesman.
