Recalls & Defects

VIN JTDKN3DUXC1545811 may have been recalled. Check full report for more information

If the front passenger seat occupant sensing system is out of calibration, the front passenger airbags may not deploy or they may deploy inappropriately for the passenger's size and position. This could increase the risk of personal injury during the event of a vehicle crash necessitating airbag deployment.

Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain models interspersed through model years 2009 through 2013 as follows: model year 2009-2012 Tacoma, 4Runner, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Prius, and RAV4; model year 2009-2010 Avalon, FJ Cruiser, and Highlander Hybrid; model year 2010-2013 model year Corolla, Sienna and Tundra; model year 2009-2013 Highlander and Venza; model year 2012 Prius V; and model year 2010-2012 Sequoia. During modification by SET to include accessories such as leather seat covers, seat heaters or headrest DVD systems, these vehicles may not have had the passenger seat occupant sensing system calibration tested. Without passing the calibration test, the occupant sensing system may not operate as designed.

Best Car Buying Experience We've Had
5
C & S on 08/03/2014

Customer Service: 5 Buying Process: 5 Overall Facilities: 5

I cannot say enough good things about J & C Auto Sales. From the beginning of the car buying experience to the exchanging of the keys; Jas and his staff were incredibly helpful. My wife and I were in the market for a Toyota 4-Runner and eyed one on their lot. Jas happily let us test drive it around town and the interstate for as long as we wished. He was very nice and engaging in conversation with my wife and I. It was also a nice touch to see a customer leaving with his new ride, give us the 'thumbs up' as he was pulling out of the lot when we returned. When it came to price negotiating, little had to be done on our end as Jas dropped the price substantially without me even trying to barter with him. I will also say that the price was very comparable to the KBB value that I researched beforehand. We live an hour away and regretted that my wife did not get to test drive the vehicle so Jas, without inquiring, offered to let us take the 4-Runner home and leave our vehicle at his lot (after signing waivers, of course). This was unexpected and a nice touch, since my wife will be the one primarily driving anyway. That night, my expecting wife, became ill and had to be admitted to the local hospital. Upon calling Jas and informing him that I would be unable to bring the vehicle back to him that day, he was very understanding and asking how my wife was doing. He told me to not worry about a thing and to call him back when I had free time, but that my family was the first priority. When I called Jas back, he told me that we could handle majority of the financial paperwork via email and internet connections. He very simply told me what he needed from me and I provided it to him. Jas also periodically called to check on my wife's status and made such a genuine approach throughout the entire process. What really blew me away was the day my wife was released from the hospital, Jas offered to drive all the way to our house and bring our old vehicle back, and sign all the paperwork in our house! I have never heard of any car dealer ever even considering to do this and I was amazed. He came all the way down with his father and we signed the paperwork at 8pm. He even made duplicates for our records. It was such a blessing for this to happen at that point in our lives as my wife was still weak and did not want to travel in a vehicle for a long period of time. If you are considering a car dealer to use, J & C Auto Sales is the best that I have encountered. Their genuine attitudes and effort to go the extra mile are second to none. Jas went above and beyond what he needed to do and I am very grateful for all that he did for us. You do not find service and salesmanship like this in our country anymore and I am glad that we were able to witness it. Please give them a try and I know you will not be disappointed in any way, shape, form, or fashion!!!

Good car, very comfortable for someone who is average build and 5'8". Interior materials are chintzy, but well laid-out. I can't speak to reliability, as I have only had it for a month. The electronics/entertainment are somewhat confusing. I have yet to figure out most of the 'apps' that come with the Entune bit. The bluetooth connection with my tracfone was flawless. I love getting an average of 52mpg in mixed highway/city driving, and not having to think about what mode the car is in, unless I put it in power mode for quicker highway merging. The USB and power ports work, but are very oddly placed in the center console and under the 'hump' between the seats in the front. The road noise is acceptable, but a bit on the loud side. I know part of this is due to our not-so-great roads.
