VIN 2FMTK3J95FBC37897 may have been recalled. Check full report for more information

If the operator is not warned of an ABS or ESC malfunction and the ESC loses engine torque control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Ford Edge vehicles manufactured February 9, 2015, to August 12, 2016. During dealer servicing, the affected vehicles may be have been updated with incorrect Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) software. This software can cause the ESC system to lose engine torque control, and not provide any warning lamps to warn the driver if there was an ABS or ESC system malfunction. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems" and number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Stay away from this company. I cannot stress this enough!Bob and his company are crooked. My fiancee took her Pontiac Aztek SUV to this dealership for repair after a minor accident. They gave her a death-trap loaner car that was unsafe on the freeway but that was nothing compared to the rest of the ordeal. After they completed the repairs a week late, my fiancee picked up her car and drove home. She immediately noticed a bad vibration and on the freeway the car constantly pulled to the left. She also noticed that the rear door would not latch unless she slammed it and the AWD and ABS light on the dashboard were on. She took it back to Mathers and they looked it over. They told her that the dash lights were not their problem and there was nothing wrong with the wheels or alignment on the car. For the rear door, they sprayed lube on it and told her to slam it and it would eventually work right. The next day she noticed a low tire and stopped by a gas station and filled it up. She had to do this about once a week and Mathers told her on the phone it was not their problem. She took the car to the Walmart tire store to have the leaky tire fixed and they told her that the wheel was bent. This was the wheel Bob Mathers charged her to replace. She went back to Mathers and they looked at it and told her they had replaced the bent wheel with a reconditioned wheel and that it was definitely not bent and after insulting Walmart told her it was not their problem but for an additional $250 they would replace it again. She went to her State Farm agent and told them her trouble. They said if it was bent they would replace it but she needed proof. She then drove 2 hours to Sears Auto Center to have the AWD and ABS fixed and the wheel checked. Sears told her the wheel was so bent they could not balance or align it. She went back to State Farm who called Bob Mathers and after much discussion, Bob admitted that they did not use a reconditioned wheel, they used a "used" or junkyard wheel and nobody would accept responsibility for it or the AWD / ABS problem. Nothing got fixed. I was helpless to assist because I live in Seattle. A few months later she moved here to Seattle and had the car trailered here. When I looked at the AWD system, it was obvious that something had scraped across the bottom of the chassis and impacted the wire connecting the front wheel bearing which has the faulty speed sensor that was setting off the lights and disabling that All Wheel Drive system and the Anti Lock Brakes. Since the accident that caused this whole problem was that while backing out of a tight parking place, the drivers side wheels went over a small curb and fell off the pavement causing an impact with a steel pole and bending a wheel. the common sense conclusion should be that the obvious damage to the AWD system was caused by the accident. Also, after inspecting the wheels, it was obvious that all four original wheels were on the car and none of then had been replaced. All 4 wheels had the same thick crud you collect on the back of alloy wheels in Michigan due to the snow and de-icers they use. While cleaning off this crud I found an old set of markings someone had written on the wheels marking "lf" for left front, "rr" for right rear etc..In summery Bob Mathers charged her for a saftey item they did not install and lied about it twice. They did substandard work on the rest of the repair and would not accept responsibility for the AWD problem that they could not figure out how to fix. They took her money and sent her down the road in an unsafe vehicle.

After 30 years of Jeep Grand Cherokees, I switched to an Edge Titanium for price reasons. Very satisfied with the 2.0 L Eco-Boost turbo-charged engine; some typical turbo lag, but not a problem. Consistent mixed use mileage of 21-23 mpg. Ground clearance is less than Jeep and there is no selectable low range gear, however neither has been a problem so far; my concern was my long steep snow covered driveway. Good handling and crisp steering control. Overall a very good vehicle, and I am completely satisfied with the purchase decision. We think it's a great vehicle.
