An unbelted driver is at a greater risk of injury in a crash.

Genera Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, Malibu, Silverado and GMC Sierra vehicles. The radio may intermittently fail to provide an audio warning when the key has been left in the ignition and the door is opened or when the driver does not fasten their seat belt. A Pleasant Surprise

I had a 2016 Chevy Malibu rental for two months while my Subaru was sidelined due to unavailability of airbag parts. I was initially disappointed to be assigned an American make, as I am more than happy with my Japanese makes, a Subaru and a Honda. However, the Chevy proved to be a pleasant surprise. It was powerful and handled beautifully. Indeed, in 60 years of driving, I got my first speeding ticket because I didn't realize how fast I was going. Moreover, the seats were comfortable and body was tight and rattle-free. My only slight disappointment was the gas mileage. My best mileage, with mostly highway driving on level land, was 29 miles per gallon.
