Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Accord Sedan, Accord Hybrid, and 2019-2020 Insight vehicles. A software error may cause intermittent or continuous disruptions in communication between the Body Control Module (BCM) and other components. This may result in malfunctions of various systems such as the windshield wipers and defroster, rearview camera, exterior lights, audible warning of a stopped vehicle, and power window operation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems" and number 111, "Rear Visibility" as well as FMVSS numbers 104, 108, 114, 118, and 305.

I started my search looking for a used Dodge Challenger. Since this model is very popular, used ones are quite pricey. After test driving an R/T with the 6-speed at Piedmont, I knew this was on my short list. I spent another month looking at other cars, including German sporty cars. I owned a Dodge Ram back in the 90's, and knew with regular maintenance they hold up fine. Wasn't sure about the cost of maintenance with an import. I checked the inventory at other Dodge dealers, and saw one I was interested in at another dealer that was close. When I pulled into the parking lot there were several salesmen who put out there cigarettes and came rushing towards me. I felt like bait in a shark tank. I didn't even get out of my car - I simply pulled away. Later, I saw one that met my criteria on Cars.com and my family and I went back to Piedmont. They worked up a very fair price - only a little more than a used model and with the benefits of knowing I had a full factory warranty, and no question about the service and maintenance history. Upon closer inspection of my choice, my wife noticed a very small door ding, and a couple areas where the clear coat was scratched from customers leaning on the fenders. Piedmont agreed to have the vehicle professionally touched up and ready just after the weekend, at which time we could initiate the buying process. No pressure to buy the vehicle first. So, my family and I went to lunch. We had seen an upscale model (the R/T Plus with the Shaker hood) and my wife suggested we buy it instead of waiting. I seized the opportunity (before she had a change of heart) and we went back and worked up a very fair deal on the purchase of this more luxurious vehicle. They detailed and fueled the vehicle while we were going through the buying process and about an hour later, I was on the way home driving a shiny brand new Dodge Challenger R/T Plus Shaker (that's a mouthful there). Chris Merritt was a pleasure to work with. A true professional who was honest and made sure he understood my vehicle wants and needs before working up a deal. He made sure I was aware of all available incentives and discounts only after I was certain I found my car. I never felt intimidated asking questions or going through the buying process. He spent quite a bit of time showing me how to set up all the controls and features to my liking, and believe me, this car has a lot of controls and features. At this time I would recommend them highly.
