Customer Service: 1 Buying Process: 1

I had spent time researching what car I wanted. I was almost ready to purchase one in town when I saw what I REALLY wanted pop up at Zimbrick. However, I was not excited about the drive to come get it because I have done that before only to find that the car is not always how it is represented online. I contacted online sales and clearly stated that I needed to make a decision on a purchase that day and was willing to come out PROVIDED we could agree on a price AND that the car was in good condition so that I could take it home that night. I was between the 2 cars and only had time to visit one dealer (seriously!). They indicated that the online price was 'as low as they could go because they weren't making any money on it already' (which clearly was not true based on the information online). So I passed, went to another dealer and agreed on a price for the other car. The next morning I woke up to an alert that the price on the car at Zimbrick had been lowered to the price I offered them the day before. Alicia indicated that her pricing manager 'must have spaced the pending drop in price' when they spoke with me. How dumb do they think their customers are? Regardless, it was the car I wanted at the price I had offered despite the fact that 'offering CPO protection to customers was not good for their business' so I would have to invest in an extended warranty. Alicia confirmed that there were no visible scratches, dents or any other damage that would have prevented me from taking the car home if I decided to make the purchase so I loaded my kids in the car and drove 1.5 hours in rush hour to get there before they closed. They were very nice when I arrived, offered us snacks while they washed the car, and the pricing manager (Steve) thanked me 'for giving them another chance'. Upon inspecting the vehicle, we saw a deep scratch through the clear coat along the entire passenger door. Let's just say that there was NO POSSIBLE WAY Alicia did not see that scratch when she inspected the car. So we returned home and I was able to purchase the other car the next morning with confidence. I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT VISIT ZIMBRICK MINI OF MADISON IF YOU HAVE TO TRAVEL TO GET THERE AND I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT TAKE ANYTHING THEY SAY AT FACE VALUE. For those that say I am naive to think you can trust used car salesmen, they are out there. I just didn't find them at Zimbrick.
